What do you get when you mix Il Fornaio, a worthy cause, a city for foodies and our friends at SF Weekly? The fifth annual SF Weekly Dish Event!
Our Italian restaurant in San Francisco is one of the contributing restaurants participating in the Dish Event Sunday, September 30th.
The event will be held from 2 – 5 pm at the Terra Gallery at 511 Harrison St., in SOMA.
There will be drool-worthy food samples from over 40 food vendors, ten wineries and plenty of spirits and beer to quench your thirst. With live entertainment by DJ Tom Thump, advanced tickets can be purchased here.
General Admission starts at $50, and VIP tickets will garner access to a VIP lounge.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the San Francisco’s La Cocina, a non-profit that cultivates low-income food entrepreneurs as they formalize and grow their businesses by providing affordable commercial kitchen space, industry-specific technical assistance and access to market opportunities.
La Cocina, meaning “The Kitchen” in Spanish was inspired by its current home, San Francisco’s Mission District. It is located in an ethnically diverse and economically vulnerable neighborhood that thrives in part due to the many small informal businesses that serve the community.
As is the case in many cities, food lies at the heart of this community, and you don’t have to look far to find hidden entrepreneurs in the kitchens of many homes.
For all San Francisco dining lovers, this is a must-attend event!
