September 25th marks the fifth anniversary of the opening of Il Fornaio in Reston, Virginia.
The Reston Italian restaurant is Il Fornaio’s first venture on the East Coast.
“It was always our plan to open on the East Coast, but we had to find the perfect place. The Reston Town Center is it,” said Michael J. Beatrice, President of Il Fornaio.
Led by General Manager Joel Barajas, Il Fornaio has become an integral part of the Reston community supporting local events such as Taste of Reston, The Reston Town Center Fine Arts Festival, The City of Reston Fine Art Festival and Oktoberfest at Reston Town Center.
Il Fornaio continues to support local non-profits such as “Let’s Help Kids” which was started by a kid to help other kids to help elementary-school aged children whose families are experiencing financial hardship.
The Il Fornaio Italian restaurant in Reston invites guests to join us for a festive anniversary party Tuesday, September 25th from 5 pm – 10 pm.
All attendees for dinner will receive a complimentary slice of Tiramisu and glass of prosecco with the purchase of an entrée.
And, we have more than one reason to celebrate. For those who haven’t met the new chef, we encourage you to drop by and say “Ciao.” Chef Roberto Gerbino’s tenure with Il Fornaio began in our Del Mar restaurant.
A native of Sicilia, Roberto received his “informal” training from his father who taught him to cook in their family’s restaurant. He then receive his formal training from the prestigious Istituto Albergheiro located in Catania, Sicily.
