Due to the success of Il Fornaio’s wine education series that debuted this spring, Il Fornaio Irvine will kick off the first session of our the intermediate series on Saturday, July 21st at 2 pm.
The popular three-part wine education serie will be taught by Certified Wine Educator Tracy Cervellone from Wilson Daniels.
Tracy has been a wine educator for over 20 years and coauthored the book Paso Robles: an American Terroir.
The first segment of wine education in Orange County will be an Italian wine region square-off.
We will compare Tuscan wines against wines from the Piemonte region, and how Sangiovese measures against Nebbiolo.
The second class on August 11th will explore Prosecco – when and how to pair Italian bubbly and what sparkling wine really means.A prosecco flight comparing taste against price will accompany the lesson.
The final installment on September 22nd is devoted to Pinot Noir. Wine students will learn how to select Pinots that complement Italian cuisine, and experience Old World vs. New World Pinot styles.
Classes are open to wine lovers of every level and $29.99 per session includes wine and delicious appetizers expertly paired with each sip by Chef Jeff Burt.

Participants who attend all three classes have the option to purchase in advance for $75. Participants who attend all three courses will receive a certificate of completion. All courses take place at the Il Fornaio Italian Restaurant in Orange County.
Please RSVP by calling the restaurant – 949-261-1444.
